Hi there,

A lot of people are scrambling to get their reservations we see. A sudden flurry in the last few days. Some people have had confusion or problems in calling Unity to get their reservations for the conference.

Calling Unity Village, the toll free number just gives you a voice mail, so please call 1-816-251-3540 and they should be able to get you a room. I'm not sure when their after hours is, but I would imagine 9-5 pm central time should work.

There has been some confusion on Unity's part about rates, deposits, etc., so we had a good talk yesterday with them, and they have adjusted back to the original rates which we quoted, and they can assign you a roommate if you don't have one, as long as there is someone to assign you with. It is best if you know someone, but they can make the match if you want to go that route.

We will also check with them to make sure that already paid reservations are at the original rates they quoted, when you go to pay your balance on arrival.

Also, the minimum deposit should be $50. Tell them so, if they say otherwise. They have moved to $100 recently, but they quoted us $50 so we're sticking to it for those on a budget. You can pay the balance when you arrive.

Our meeting rooms are at the old center, not at the new hotel, so if you want to be close to the meeting rooms, make sure they're aware we are not at the new conference center. The distance isn't terrible, but if you want close walking distance, I think you want the motel, not the new hotel. Eugenia, clarify if I'm wrong here. If you want the luxury of the new hotel for lodging, I think you get to walk a block or two. Our meeting rooms are near the cafeteria, I believe.

Just for budget's sake and your own knowledge:

The cottages are the cheapest. $165 approx for shared.
Motel is middle ground
and Hotel is highest, but nicest.

All prices include meals as rooms and meal package go together. Children stay for free if they are in room with parent, but will have to pay for meals, though if you want to bring food for toddlers, that's fine. We will plan for some day care and activities if we get some children. So far, we have a teenager and a couple of younger children (3-4 years old) tentatively planning to come.

The $35 for registration which is separate from room reservations, needs to be sent either to Eugenia Bryan at 2343 Ranch St., Lawrence, KS 66047 or you can pay with card online at www.lightandlife.us under Donations and put in the memo that it's for the Unity Village Conference. Again, the rate goes up after March 31, so get it sent in if you want the early bird rate, or at least let us know you're coming so we can plan for it and put you down for it.

Questions, contact me at this email or Eugenia by email at ebryan at sunflower.com.

Peace,
Bob
