ALL has supported UB efforts this year out of our budget
with a donation to the Fellowship to use as they see fit, so
that part of our budget is expended.  But if folks want to
earmark part of their annual member donation to ALL for
Mark's project we can forward it on to this cause, or you
can donate directly as per below.  We will make a lump sum
contribution in a couple weeks from anything we have
collected.

You can contribute online via our website at
http://all.lightandlife.us under the Donations link or by
mail to ALL c/o Rick Giles treasurer, 2582 E Hudlow Rd,
Hayden, ID  83835.

Those who contribute via ALL will have voting privileges in
our annual elections this fall.

Greetings Urantia friends!

You have all heard me talk about Mark Bloomfield, who helped
start the FreeSchools in India with Sister Crescence while
seeding the Urantia Book there, and who traveled with Sue
Tennant and me to visit the schools last year. Today Mark is
in South Africa, where he is halfway through placing 500
Urantia Books (the gift of an anonymous donor) in every
center of learning as the first phase of a two-part mission.
Another 500 books are needed for the second phase, and it is
estimated that another $15,000 will be needed to carry out
the work, mainly for the purchase and shipment of books.

Fundraising for this effort is being coordinated by devoted
readers Tamara Wood (book sales manager at Urantia
Foundation in Chicago) and Merindi Swadling (a
second-generation reader from Australia), and they have
already raised $4,950 toward this goal with the help of some
Urantia Association International (UAI) members. It would be
great if readers from the broader Urantia community could
support Mark as well, and that is the purpose of this
message.

so far and fortnightly updates, meet those who are helping
him, and find various options for contributing to his
mission. A special PayPal button has been established for
Mark via Mind, Body and Spirit, Inc. in Tallahassee (Fred
Harris, Paula Sutton and the gang), and Fred has just
informed that MBS will match the first $1,500 that comes in

Tamara says, "This is the plan for the project: All the
money donated is going into one big pot for the purchase of
500 books that will all be shipped together on one pallet
from Chicago and for Mark’s travel/living expenses while
seeding the books.  It will cost $10,000 for the discounted
books, the shipping and the customs/duties which are not
surprisingly very high in Africa. An additional $5000 is for
Mark to eat, sleep and travel. So we need to raise the money
first, then we’ll ship the books." Tamara adds that they
have received some very nice thank you notes from
institutions where Mark has recently placed books. 

Having traveled with Mark for several weeks, I can
personally vouch for his devotion to the book-seeding
mission as well as his frugality. Not one cent will be
wasted as he travels cheaply from place to place with a
small backpack (never flying if he can take a cheaper bus!),
staying in rock-bottom accommodations, and eating the
simplest local food, with only one goal in mind: to see that
the Urantia Book is placed in every center of learning in
every country of the world.
