The Urantia Book Fellowship Community UpdateHi folks,

I am forwarding this to all teamcircuits on behalf of the Association for Light and Life.  Please forgive the seeming SPAM aspect of this post, but time is of the essence.  The Fellowship is having a fundraiser (Truthbook website, digital archiving, outreach, etc.) and Russ Gustovson has suggested we might pool our resources to increase the amount and thereby let the Fellowship know that ALL is supporting their work where it aligns with ours...  

A Urantia Fellowship newsletter is posted below with an offer for matching funds for contributions made before the end of this year -- that's merely days away.  If people wanted to contribute to this via ALL, they could do so by going to www.lightandlife.us and clicking on the Donations link, then put in the memo that the donation is for the Fellowship.  We would need to give them our commitment by Saturday for it to count toward the matching funds, so any contributions given by Friday night would go toward this.  Any help is appreciated.  Of course, if people want to donate directly, we encourage that, as well.

This will be published from time-to-time with news and information of interest to the Urantia Book readership community.                               Two generous anonymous donors are willing to match one-time contributions up to a total of $5,000, between now and December 31.  Another donor is considering doing the same (if so, I will keep you posted).  But for now, from December 25 to December 31, 2005, your donation will be matched (up to $5,000).  If no one donates, the Fellowship will not get these funds.

                              A new electronic version of Harry McMullan's Topical Index for The Urantia Book has been developed and is available on the Fellowship website.

                              a.. The Digital History Archiving Project 
                             
                                 

                              For many years there has been talk about creating an archive for important historical documents related to the Urantia revelation.  Because of pressing needs growing out of our expanding website, a solution immediately being implemented is the creation of a comprehensive digital archive that will become a repository for all historic documents, videotapes, audio recordings, newsletters, photos, internal correspondence, and other media related to the development of the revelation and the reader community.  

                              This project is currently being managed by Larry Watkins who is being assisted by Kristen Michaels, Victoria Clark, Dick Johnson, Christilyn Biek, and Larry Bowman.  The biggest task at present is reading each document and creating a summary or descriptive paragraph which can be included in the index and used when seeding Internet search engines.  

                              A very good set of standards for formatting and archiving all media are being developed by the working group.  If you have documents in your personal collection that you think would be of value to the present and future readership, and if you wish to have copies of these preserved in the digital archive, please contact Larry Watkins, watkinsl at comcast.net, and we can make the necessary arrangements to include them. 

                              Please take some time to inform yourself about this important project.  Any suggestions or comments would be gratefully accepted.
