A Celebration of the Earth Career of
Nel Benjamins
April 24, 1937 January 22, 2003
On January 22, 2003 our sister Nel Benjamins graduated from this planet.
Good afternoon my name is Larry Whelan, Nel, my wife Donna and I are
members of the Arcadia Teaching Mission and Urantia Book Study Group. Today
we are here to celebrate the life of our sister. I first met Nel in
January of 2000 in the home of Hal and Lucille Kettell in Arcadia,
California. Nel greeted me warmly as her brother. She is truly a daughter
of the Father in heaven and my sister, just as we are all spiritual
brothers and sisters in the family of God.
Nel believes the gospel of Jesus, the Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood
of man. There is one God, our Father in heaven and we are His sons and
daughters. Nel dedicated her life to doing the Father's Will and strived
to "Be perfect, even as the Father in heaven is perfect." God is
Love. Nel knows the Father's Love. God created each of us in Love. God
indwells each of us and He loves you as if you were his only child. God
loves you so much that He has given you free will choice and yet He has
chosen to indwell you and be a part of your life's experiences.
In prayer and stillness Nel talks to her Father in heaven and follows the
leadings of the Spirit. Nel is a faithful and fruitful worker. She
believes that all things work to the glory of God. She believes the words
of Jesus when he said:
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he
dies, yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in me shall never die."
"Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in
me. In my Father's are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
Just as we celebrate Nel Benjamins' life here today, it is my opinion that
the Angels of heaven were celebrating as Jesus called Nel to the
resurrection, "Nel! Come forth! Well done my daughter, you have been good
and faithful in your life on earth. I shall make you steward over many
things in heaven. Enter into the joy of my Father's kingdom."
Nel, we love you, we are happy and proud that you are our sister. We will
see you in the mansions on high, until we meet again, live in our Father's
LOVE.
