PAULO: I am Paulo.  Good afternoon.  I am opening my arms in gratitude this 
afternoon for the potential that is.  There is Stillness here and a quietude 
which prevails, and yet it is trembling on this precipice of the eternal 
career.  This eye-opening expansion of a perception of life endures a great 
deal of resistance.  What a wondrous challenge for you who know the living 
Jesus to bring him into the season.  

The stillness of winter enjoys a creative inner life.  When one is adorned 
with festivity, lights and color, music and dancing, riches in food and 
friendship, in expressing songs of love and thanksgiving, in giving homage to 
standards and values which have a place in the human heart, is the foundation 
of which your seeds can be planted.  When you are sufficiently unselfish as 
to stand back by observing your fellows and your interaction with your 
fellows, seeing the overall conditions, situations, values, vibrations, 
interactions, patterns, inclinations, instabilities ... as well as the fruits 
of the spirit ... you will see the panorama before you in which to put your 
faith, in order to bring along the greater reality of consciousness bordering 
on potential which is actualized into perfection.  An enduring adventure!  
And we see it before us today.   

We urge you to reach out into the metaphysical and touch hands in joy and 
hope of peace and light in a global family manner.  Realize the sonship of 
humanity.  Recognize the power within.  Encourage the release of spiritual 
power within the matter, molecules and morontia of your environment.  We 
celebrate today a new vortex -- a stitch in time that embroiders humanity to 
divinity in the interweaving of the warp and the woof, which is our new 
paradigm -- the yellow brick road of the pursuit to all that can be.  What 
have you got on your plates this afternoon?

THOROAH: I was just trying to recollect right there what the text says about 
the warp and the woof.

PAULO:   That is the interweaving between the higher mind and spirit realm, 
the morontia quality of reality.  

THOROAH:   The warp is ... and the woof is ...?  I'm just trying to recollect.

PAULO: You will find it in due course. [Ed's note: Foreword to the Urantia 
Papers]  "Morontia is a term designating a vast level intervening between the 
material and the spiritual. It may designate personal or impersonal 
realities, living or nonliving energies. The warp of morontia is spiritual; 
its woof is physical." 

THOROAH: Yes.  We have a couple of questions for this meeting.  This question 
from Marty regarding a script, transcript or a story that was put together by 
Amadonian, one of the people on one of our talk lists, and he was talking 
about Daniel the prophet, and Marty was wondering if the Teacher Daniel that 
we hear from often from the Pocatello group is the prophet Daniel back here 
as a teacher.  This would be to the attention of the "inter-species alliance" 
to quote Marty, if that was the case.

PAULO: It is not so.

THOROAH: The other question.  This is from Helen Luke.  The question – "I'm 
wondering if the presence of midwayers ties into the theories that have long 
persisted in mystical lore and now are being seriously considered by 
theoretical physicists, that there are parallel universes, alternate 
dimensions.  It's a fascinating idea."

PAULO: Quantum mechanics.  Well, certainly, I've got to expound in response 
to your projections, daughter.  You've presented a provocative theory.  I 
will bore you with sociology.

We have in the topic of midwayers the many perceptions of what these 
creations are and how they interact in and with humanity as a reality.  We 
have, of course, the nature spirits.  We have the whole fantasy family: 
leprechauns, gnomes, fairies, elves, and the like.  We have "imaginary 
friends" -- many of them have risen to fame and fortune.  What's the name of 
that big rabbit? Harvey.  Angels have had to endure the same categorization.

As far as sociology is concerned, let's jump shift to patron saints and 
divine incarnations, spiritual personalities which have changed planetary 
course for humanity – Mohammad, Moses, Caligastia, Jesus, Zoroaster, and so 
forth.  This, too, is a social grouping, a strata.  Let's not overlook Zeus, 
Aphrodite, Gabriel, Melchizedek, even into such dimensions as the Maitreya, 
the Buddha, or the Rapture.  These are parallel universes as you look at them 
sociologically. 

One further chart I will present, and that has to do with cults and clans and 
gangs, clubs, and personalities which form themselves into groupings which 
depict a character and yet in sociological terms they can all be seen as a 
cross-section of the greater humanity.  Prison life, for example, is a 
microcosm of freedom.  The family of man is a microcosm of the family of God. 
 And once again we have, sociologically speaking, parallel universes.  

One can take the vantage of any of those above and have enduring and 
mind-altering communications having to do with real reality because of the 
juxtaposing one reality with another of those which comprise that area of 
comparison.  (And before you accuse me of being intellectual or academic, I 
will say I am responding to your question.)  You are therefore probing into 
teaching methods.  By knowing what you can know about your fellows, the 
better thinker you can be, the better you can serve in particular capacities 
in which these subjects and services can be intelligently discussed and/or 
acted upon.  

Midwayers.  They have opened the door.  They have BEEN the door to the 
greater universe.  They are the Portal.  In many respects.  They are the toll 
booth that you stop at on the way across the bridge into infinity.  And yet 
they are not stationary; they are active, and eager to be involved in your 
very apt administration of your psycho-spiritual arena.  

Indeed, they too are the warp and woof.  As you stretch your perceptions 
imaginatively, you rest the resistence to bigger picturizations of what 
reality can be.  And then when you have much to draw upon, like the thief in 
the night, you can be there, acutely there in the precise instant, to respond 
as the Voice of Clarity in the opening that has arisen as a result of our 
association with an intelligent, advancing, living organism of Light and 
Life, an association we long to share with every one and every thing.  
Luring.  Ever luring mankind forward into the spiritual embrace of divine 
love and over-control.

What was the question?

THOROAH: The question was: "I'm wondering if the presence of midwayers ties 
into the theories that have long persisted in mystical lore and now are being 
seriously considered by theoretical physicists ..." and she mentions a Dr. 
Michio Kaku, whose bio followed here.  This physicist theorizing that there 
are parallel universes, alternate dimensions.

PAULO: Yes, they are.  But you can't get away from it.  There are no 
short-cuts.  You might as well embrace it.  

THOROAH: That's very confusing for us linear people, to think of all the 
alternative realities.

PAULO: You aren't there yet, however.  

THOROAH: But we think about them.

PAULO: It's good to think about them.  It's good to allow yourself an 
expansion of a limited viewpoint.  

THOROAH: But we can't really hope to understand them until we get there. 

PAULO: It may be you don't need to go there.  And yet if you didn't look at 
it, how would you know whether you were supposed to go there or not?  Part of 
the difficulty is that many of you have made decisions in the past to not go 
somewhere that you would do better to go, but you have consciously closed the 
door and you refuse to find the key.  The more you allow the doors and 
windows of your mind to fling open to possibilities, the more readily you 
yield to the greater reality which will point the Way  

THOROAH: When we experience things in different states of mind (let's put it 
that way) which might be described by some as an alternate dimension, but for 
simplicity sake I would look at it as perhaps we approach some things in a 
different state of mind, i.e., the dream state and other altered states of 
mind where we experience a different reality, perhaps, but it's our 
experience itself and what happens with that experience that's most 
important, not the reality we're in.  Would that be correct?

PAULO: I will encourage you now to look upon a condition of altered states.  
Altered states of mind.  When you are in the influence of a point of view, 
you automatically are subjected to the emanations of that point of view, even 
if you cannot identify them consciously.  Let's say you're in a hostile 
environment that appears friendly.  A wolf in sheep's clothing.  A facade for 
appearances sake.  You may think you are having cordial dealings but your 
organism has been put upon by the undertow of the dysfunction.  

By the same token, you can be in a circumstance that reflects divine values 
and you will feel freer, sooner, to open up to what vibrations might be 
around the atmosphere so as to take full advantage of the goodness provided, 
and come away not knowing why you feel so good, but knowing they were nice 
people.  

You are the same person in each case but you are vulnerable to the energy 
patterns of your environment.  The more you can be aware of your environment, 
the more you will recognize when you are being influenced and how.  It puts 
you in a position of having to be constantly aware of the changes you 
yourself are going through in your daily walk, Each environment is an altered 
state.  Each interchange with another individual is another state that you 
have altered yourself to be part of.  Life is alive.  It moves onward.  It is 
innately mobile.

THOROAH:    It's creative.  It's not ...

PAULO:  Not static.

THOROAH: Yeah, I think we perceive that life has these rules and we're 
supposed to somehow fit into life and we don't quite grasp that we ARE life, 
and we basically make the rules.

PAULO: Let's say you were trained to behave in a certain way.  You learned 
what you were trained to do and then said, "Okay, now what?"  And those who 
taught you wonder why you aren't happy with what you were taught.  It was 
good enough for them.  But this is the advancing evolution of the human race. 
 You have taken a very large evolutionary step as of this past century.  Even 
this past decade.  

THOROAH: So one of the things we have to be concerned about is dealing with 
change, since we have to deal with a lot of change.  It seems like more 
change more often.

PAULO:  "Welcome to change."

THOROAH: Yeah.

PAULO: And yet the will is such that it can co-operate with that which needs 
to have foundation and stability and endurance.  A point in time and space.  
A point of reference.  

THOROAH: That's where we build our faith. On that...

PAULO: Indeed.

THOROAH: ... rather than on this temporal realm.  

PAULO:  And this is why I celebrate today the exuberance of standing at the 
threshold of the potential before us.
