* Elyon (Jonathan TR): (We appreciate) ...your sensitivity toward us today
and return to you our welcome for your willingness to attend our instruction
times that you may be further uplifted. Yet it is not merely the reception of
our instruction that uplifts you, it is that you are receptive to begin with.
The willingness to progress is the very fuel that carries you forward, for the
content of instruction varies throughout your unfoldment. The constant element
is the receptivity.
I have a picture for you to work with. This imagery applies to both the
conditions of the planet and the situations of an individual life. Picture, if
you will, a pan on a stove. The pan is like Urantia or it is like how you find
yourself as an individual in life. It has a fixed state, the parameters or
conditions that define you or the world. Urantia, though similar to other
worlds, is unique just as all pans and pots have different shapes and are
composed of different materials. They simply are fixed once manufactured.
Contained within this pan is a soup. These are variable factors. Some
things may be added, some things merely steeped and removed later. Some make no
obvious appearance at all but are blended to enhance the overall effect. Others
are meant to be a striking garnish that beautifies the final result.
Periodically the stew is stirred. Sometimes a thermometer is used to gauge
its temperature. It simmers upon a burner. These external utensils and devices
can be likened to the celestial ministers who serve this world or serve each of
you.
But the most important element to this entire picture is the heat that is
applied. This is the grace of God, His love, His mercy, His ministry, His
goodness, His beauty, His truth. Without the heat this stew would not
advance to
its finished state. No stirring would accomplish what the heat can do; no
additional ingredients will accomplish it either. All these other elements vary
the type of experience or world. However, the heat remains the same: constant,
assuring and stable.
I share this with you that you may reflect upon the meanings that you may
derive. Thank you for this opportunity. This is Elyon.
Ginnie: I have been focusing on being aware of teachers who are helping
me. The name Andrew came to mind as the contact who would be most helpful. Is
it possible to speak to Andrew at this time? Is he part of our group?
* Elyon: We are familiar with the teacher Andrew. He has been active in the
mission for a while and is willing to assist you in your growth. Andrew has the
ability to inspire. He has skills in the arena of promotion; he is accomplished
at fostering, so you will find him to be a motivator. He will amplify your
inspirations.
Ginnie: Is it encouraged for us to ask about our friends' teachers? I was
hoping to talk to my friend's teacher in hopes of helping my friend.
* Elyon: Our policy is to present a teacher to the student directly, to
introduce ourselves when it is appropriate such that this human receiver may
feel
the personal greeting at the time rather than hear about this personal attendant
through secondary notice. However, this does not prevent any teacher from
conversing with you, though you may know that this teacher is available for
another. I do encourage you to spend time conversing with Andrew, for he, like
other teachers, has several students that he attends. Though a few may be
considered his personal students, others are his mission associates, and this is
perfectly acceptable.
Ginnie: I want to understand this person better and maybe understand them
through a teacher. Maybe this isn't my business.
* Elyon: This is acceptable, for in doing so you are relating to the teacher
and refining your ability to be of service to your friend. It is for the friend
to desire or request the relationship of a personal teacher. So you may need to
establish your friendship with Andrew long before it is ever enacted, the
relationship of personal teacher with your friend. If your friend is receptive
to such relationships you may be better situated to receive counsel from Andrew
that is more specific, but he is constrained to free will and must uphold the
dignity of your mortal friend and respect this individual's privacy. Should she
or he grant you this permission, you will have created a three-individual party,
and the counseling relationship established will allow you to proceed more
intimately.
Ginnie: Thank you.
Is it true that we are attracted to people of our own group? Do we meet
people and recognize them as buddies in a group project? Even though there
seems
to be so much dissimilarity in people I meet, I feel an unidentifiable
attraction.
* Elyon: Indeed, this is true. I would return to my stew and point out that
the bonding and similarities are what defines a particular soup or stew, and yet
the differences are often definitional. For instance, a potato leek soup
defines
itself differently than does French onion. It is in the combination of
differences and similarities that the effect is realized. The angels are
experts
at composing recipes, discerning personality makeups and inclinations and
encouraging associations. So, you have discerned rightly in this case.
Ginnie: Is it possible to ask my teacher to communicate with another
person's teacher for more enlightened bonding? This person has no connection to
the spirit world, at least I don't think so. For me to say anything about it
would seem inappropriate right now. Maybe I could get more awareness started
through our individual teachers.
* Elyon: I salute you for your willingness to be such a minister to your
friend, for you are not only helping the efforts of associated teachers, but you
are assisting attending angels, and you are helping the Father Himself reach
this
child.
We all rely upon our visible brethren to be complementary to our celestial
efforts. I have conveyed many times how you are our hands in the projects of
upliftment and ministry, so I do give you complete support, and I assure you all
others will likewise, for we each hunger for the deepening of relationship with
our brothers and sisters and seek sincerely to aid them in finding a personal
relationship with the Creator of us all.
Tom: If this person doesn't have any conscious link with spirituality, how
is it he ends up with a teacher? I thought we were required to petition a
teacher.
* Elyon: Teachers lay in waiting. Initially in this mission teachers were
assigned as humans sought them, for we proceeded with caution not to disrupt the
ordinary processes of administration on this world. But it was observed that
this process was proceeding smoothly and without disruption to the established
celestial affairs. It has been granted that all individuals be assigned a
teacher. However, I must qualify the word "assignment". One is waiting as a
volunteer to be active. This teacher will study and visit and observe and learn
from that human personality until such a time as the welcome of willingness has
been issued from the human of freewill choice. You might say that the teacher
begins as a passive observer and must await the time when active engagement may
begin.

Tom: Yes, thank you.
Elyon: I realize you have time interests for today, so I will withdraw at
this point and ask you to simmer on my lesson and reflect upon the meanings that
lay in wait for you. Farewell.
